…Well, that depends on who’s talking. Some will say, “illegal.” Others will say, “undocumented.” Does it matter? Yes. Many Latinas and Latinos, who may be at risk of being labeled “illegal” and/or “undocumented” because of their heritage, think it certainly does. And, some folks are being proactive–running a public education campaign–Drop the I-Word— to end the use of the slur “illegal” within the public discourse on immigration. The campaign, which is a matter of human dignity, is making a difference in the media.
